One Response to “What is Macy’s business Management style?”

Macy has a diverse management style. The objectives are two-fold: growing sales and profits and enhancing the Macy’s, Inc. reputation in the marketplace. This approach helps Macy’s better understand and satisfy the needs of their increasingly diverse customer base, and it creates deep customer loyalties.

Women represent over 75% of the Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s workforce and more than 65% of their managers. Racial minorities are more than 46% of our workforce and 28% of our management ranks.

Macy believes, “If we don’t speak to that population, you can’t be The Great American Department Store. Diversity is embedded in everything they do, from the models they choose to the languages they put their advertising out in.” Their marketing initiatives for diversity tie directly into their corporate-wide initiative, that they embrace diversity and inclusion and go after it in meaningful ways.
