Should I major in business administration or business management?

I know it is risky and will take a lot of hard work but I would like to own a day spa with tanning beds, massage therapist, nail technicians, and much more. This is my dream and I’m wondering how I can accomplish it and what courses to take in college. Business administration or management? Please Help. Also do you think accomplishing this will be too hard?

I would say you are on the right track. You are majoring in business for the right reasons – to run your own business. I had many friends in college who majored in business expecting to get high-paying jobs and got stock passing out popcorn at Regal Cinemas. My comment regarding whether or not it will be “too hard”, there are many day spas out there, and they exist because it CAN be profitable, so I say go for it if its what you want to do, and yes it will be hard at first.

As far as administration or management, the hones truth is it depends on which courses your particular university requires for each emphasis as most are different. Usually one has a reputation for being more rigorous, pick that one as it will teach you to work hard, plan, be fiscally conservative, and study.
