How can I get the android market back on my G1?

I have a G1 from T-Mobile that was given to me recently. I don’t know much about software updates or firmware but I know I am running 2.1. When I first got the phone it had the android market app on it. When I took it to T-Mobile to have them reset it under my gmail, etc. They noticed the market app was completely gone from the phone. They explained they had never seen a phone without a market. I tried to install things from market.android.com but because my phone never recognized my gmail and the market at the same time it’s not registering. How can I get the android market back on my G1? Thanks in advance!

Go to your setting and Go to SD Card phone & Storage. Then Click Factory Data Reset. By clicking the reset phone your phone will restart and your market will be back.

*Note: your apps will be gone, but you will find them in your market.
    – your pictures & music MIGHT be deleted.
    – your txt messages will be deleted but not your contacts.

PC market wont work unless your phone is synced with google (gmail) and since you skipped that process or tmo screwed it up, then both market and website market wont work)….

your gonna have to do this the old fashion way…. go to :

    http://www.filecrop.com/android-Market-market.apk.html

down the 2.1 verision onto your PC/laptop… copy/paste the downloaded apk file to your SD card “Download” folder…. now, on the phone, open files app… go to download folder on SD card… see the market app.. click it… install it.. walla…

Ive never tried this before, so I cant guarentee it will work. But, it should follwing standard maunal install processes…. another option is to gop STRAIGHT to market.android.com on the phone’s browser and try that… or try http://www.appbrain.com on the phones broswer and install there market app for free… itll link to the google market and downloaded should work (shoot–they do that on some android tablets and they are peachy!)…

    anyways, good luck!
