Its for a sports and entertainment marketing firm. I have an interview with them and I’m just curious.

    It really depends.

In today’s economy, everybody are calling themselves “marketing consultants”. If you are in the marketing department of an insurance company, you won’t need a laptop. But if you are in a true multinational corporation that is agressively expanding all over the world, a laptop is essential because you will require the laptop for:

    1) Data storage
    2) Easy access to the internet through dial-up or wireless hotspots
    3) Analysis or calculations for sophisticated software for market research or accounting purposes.

However, please bear in mind that more corporations will provide you with a company laptop for corporate purposes only, so that research done can be shared among the working group or team. You will not be expected to use orbring your own laptop unless you ar. an entrepreneur or starting your own business
