I go to Wright State University in dayton ohio and they have one of the best design/technology programs in the entire country.

it’s not like most colleges, where you bide time to get show assignments, you start hands on work ASAP in scene shop and ASM’ing. by the end of the program you are basically left to your own devices, with minimal interference by the faculty.

oh, and not to mention that the program is endorsed by martin sheen AND tom hanks.

Most Colleges that offer a theater degree offer specializations in the areas of Acting, Design, and Management. Some schools also offer other specializations in things like Dramaturgy, Musical theatre, etc…
In order to make the choice of what school is best for you you might want to look at other factors that are important to you, such as reputation, faculty, location, cost, level of hands on experience, post graduate job placement assistance, etc…

Here is a website that lists the best schools by state.

I’ve done a lot of looking into schools like this and found all the schools on this list are pretty top-notch. I am looking into Webster University in St. Louis and DePaul University in Chicago for Stage Managment.
